Application Checklist

2023 applications are now closed. 2024 applications are due March 1, 2024 and awards are announced the following July.

Each application should help our Trustees understand your organization, your audience, your project and your budget. We ask that you:

1. Include in a cover letter:

  • The purpose of the request (five lines maximum)

  • Amount requested

  • Name and phone number of the contact person for this grant

  • How you heard about the Trust

  • Signature of the organization’s chief officer or board chair

2. Briefly describe the mission and programs of your organization

3. Summarize the project:

Please tell us how you plan to use the funds and what you hope to accomplish, including:

  • A description of the project

  • What audience you hope to reach and how you will reach them

  • What type of meditation is involved

  • Who are the key staff, teachers or other presenters (their names, training, other qualifications)

  • What specific outcomes you hope to achieve

  • How you will evaluate the project's impact

  • When the project will be completed

Be sure you include: 

  • What gap in your current work this project might fill

  • How any purchased materials or products (such as books, audio or video) will be used

  • How you will market and distribute any final product, if applicable

  • How you will determine the price or fees or why fees are inappropriate

4.  Give financial and legal information:

  • An IRS letter classifying the organization as a tax-exempt nonprofit

  • The names and affiliations of the organization’s Directors

  • A project budget with estimated expenses and revenues

  • The organization’s total budget for the current year with both expenses and revenues

  • The organization’s most recent financial statement

5. Limit the description of your organization and project (#2 and #3) to five pages or less.

Include brochures, annual reports or other background material as attachments. We’ll contact you if we need more information.

6. Send an electronic copy of your proposal via email.

Please consolidate your proposal into no more than 3 documents(MS Word or PDF) and send to: apply@trustformeditation.org

7. Send a paper copy of your proposal and any supplementary materials via land mail to:

To ensure that your proposal is appropriately reviewed, please:

Send proposals in BOTH ways - Email AND Land Mail.

Email with proposal should be sent by March 1.
Land mail with proposal and supplementary materials should be postmarked by March 1.
